Theft of Identity

If your identity has been stolen it is probably not the fault of any merchant or credit reporting agency.  However, they must provide some assistance to your plight and accurately report the circumstance.  Unfortunately, this can be one of the most frustrating experiences you will ever endure.   You may also review www.identitytheft.org for additional information.  If the merchant or credit agency do not immediately and accurately correct your credit report AFTER YOU NOTIFY THEM about the identify theft, these firms may have violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act or other statutes.  If you continue to have difficulties you should consult an attorney.
